Fairies and Footballers – Summer Recap

We’ve been so busy up and down the country this Summer that we’ve found little time for a long overdue update showing off some of our highlights of the last few months.
We don’t like to use the term ‘Dry Season’, because it almost suggests lack of bookings and quiet. That could not be further from the truth for us, as we close an exhausting few months in the sun. Our ‘Dry Wedding/Party/Festival/Hectic Season’ probably began at the end of May, when we completed a 400 mile round-trip triple gig weekend across Staffordshire, Cheshire and Lincolnshire.

June/July brought a whole bunch of parties, weddings and rowdy pubs for us to entertain hundreds of people in the heat. A particular shout out to Sally and her now-husband David, for their 5 star hospitality when we played their stellar wedding in the gorgeous surrounding of the George Hotel, Stamford. We’ve never been so well looked after!

As above, and just like last year, one of our big highlights was rocking out the Greatest Enchanted Ball at the Belton Woods Hotel for Luke and Vicky, the greatest co-hosts and most selfless charity workers you’re ever likely to find. Full of princes and fairies and all things magical, the place looked amazing. It’s never nice to choose favourites, but this gig really is… ahem. We like this event very much, I’ll say no more. Thank you and we all can’t wait until next time.

While we’re not into choosing favourites, we’re also not into name dropping. But a couple of weeks ago WE SHARED THE STAGE WITH PAUL GASCOIGNE. The Three Lions legend was an absolute gentleman, and shared some great stories for an attentive crowd at a Cancer Research event, prior to Outside In getting everyone on their feet for the rest of the night. Definitely one to remember for us!

I’d be a bad bassist if I didn’t mention the fact that both our frontman, Dan, and our drummer, Will, tied the knot (not together) to the loves of their lives in the past few weeks. Cheers to them! I’m sure Outside In will be even stronger with the passion and dedication they both learn from marriage ๐Ÿ˜‰
I’d also be a bad representative if I didn’t give a shout-out to some unsung heroes of the Summer that have stepped in and helped us out and have been invaluable assets to us, time and time again; Martin Clarridge, Ben Miles, and Cam Jones.

We look forward to seeing you soon, at one of our many events coming up before Christmas. Check out our Home Page for upcoming gigs. A personal recommendation would be the Kings Head in Louth on 30th Nov. Thanks to Sharon and her team, that place is always lively and rocking and we love playing there.
Here’s a pic of me and the lads from last weekend, happy as ever after a great wedding gig. See you around!!
